Mitch visits Spokies Bike Share
OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) —
May is National Bicycle Month... And Oklahoma City is making it easier for bikers to get around with newly painted new, bright green bike lanes all over Downtown OKC to help drivers watch for cyclists. But that's not all they've been doing... Even if you don't have a bike, the city has that taken care of as well.
Spokies, Oklahoma City's only bike share program, offers people the opportunity to bike it around town. Wednesday, May 10 is the Full Moon Ride where cyclists will gather at the Myriad Gardens at 8 p.m. Spokies, will offer discounts during the ride.
On Friday, May 19th, it's National Bike to Work Day. Join a group ride to Myriad Gardens on any of five routes beginning at 7:15 from neighborhood parks: McKinley Park, John F. Kennedy Park, Edgemere Park, Perle Mesta Park and Wiley Post Park. Once riders reach Myriad Botanical Gardens, Junction Coffee will be there to provide complimentary coffee and breakfast, courtesy Downtown OKC, Inc. Free Spokies to encourage cycling.
