Millwood teachers give up days of pay to save other teachers' jobs
OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) —
Oklahoma City school districts are getting creative with how to deal with the massive budget shortfall.
At Millwood Public Schools, its getting compassionate.
School employees in the east Oklahoma City district have agreed to give up to three days of pay to save the jobs of 11 other staff members.
Superintendent Cecilia Robinson says everyone at the district, including non-teaching staff to administrative staff all agreed on the move.
It will save the district hundreds of thousands of dollars and allow teachers to keep their jobs.
