Luther candidate, wife charged with voter fraud
LUTHER, Okla. (KOKH) —
The Oklahoma County District Attorney's Office says man who ran for Luther City Board of Trustees and his wife committed voter fraud in an April 2015 election.
Ronald and Brenda Henry are accused of falsely submitting at least nine absentee ballots for the 2015 Luther City Board election, of which Ronald was running for Luther City Board Trustee.
According to court documents, on three separate occasions, the Henry's delivered absentee ballots to Cecilia Taft for notarization. Several of the people whose names appear on the ballots, however, either do not live in Luther, already submitted an absentee ballot or told police they did not vote.
Taft acknowledged she notarized the absentee ballots without the individuals being present and identifying themselves, as prescribed by law.
Both Ronald and Brenda Henry are facing felony fraud charges.
