Lopez named Oklahoma Secretary of State
OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) —
Former Oklahoma Commerce Secretary Dave Lopez has been named the Secretary of State.
Governor Mary Fallin announced March 20 that Lopez would re-join her staff beginning March 27. Lopez succeeds Mike Hunter, who left the position after being appointed Oklahoma Attorney General. Lopez must be confirmed by the Oklahoma Senate.
Lopez previously served as Commerce Secretary under Fallin from 2011 to 2013. He also served as interim Oklahoma City Public Schools Superintendent from 2013 to 2014.
“I’m honored to once again serve in the governor’s administration and look forward to working with her to grow Oklahoma’s economy and bring more jobs and opportunities to our state," Lopez said.
