Infant dies at Stillwater in-home daycare

(KOKH/FILE)

Police are investigating after an infant died at a Stillwater in-home daycare.

The Stillwater Police Department reports that shortly after 11:30 a.m. Feb. 12 emergency crews were called to a home in the 3000 block of E. 2nd Street to a report of an infant not breathing.

An officer arrived at the home and found an adult performing CPR on the 4-month-old infant. Medical personnel pronounced the child dead on scene.

Police say the home where the death occurred is an in-home daycare. The daycare provider said the infant was put down for a nap and found to be not breathing approximately one hour later.

The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner will determine the infant's cause of death. At the end of January, a 3-month-old was pronounced dead after being found unresponsive at Super Kids Learning Center in Stillwater.
