Authorities identify man killed in crash along I-235
OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) —
Firefighters and police say one person died in a crash involving a motorcycle and several vehicles Thursday on along I-235.
Just after 12:30 p.m. June 29 emergency crews responded to a fatal crash in the southbound lanes of I-235 near 50th Street. A report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol shows that 48-year-old William Hodgins died in the crash.
Police say Hodgins and a second vehicle slowed for traffic in the construction zone when Hodgins was struck by a third vehicle and pushed into the second car.
He was pronounced dead on scene.
The OHP closed down all lanes of I-235 just south of the I-44 interchange due to the crash. The I-44 eastbound ramp to I-235 was also shut down. Nearly four hours later the crash was cleared and the road was opened to the public.
