Edmond police: Standoff suspect surrenders, in custody

One person is in custody after a 10-hour standoff in Edmond.

The Edmond Police Department reports that 35-year-old Kyle Duwayne Wilson was taken in to custody after a standoff May 19. Police responded to the incident near St. Andrews and Dundee Drive in the Oak Tree development.

At around 7:50 a.m., Edmond police told FOX 25's Julie Calhoun the incident is no longer a hostage situation, but remains a standoff.

Just after 9:30 a.m., officials on-scene told FOX 25 the suspect surrendered peacefully to police and Wilson was in custody. Edmond police tweeted the entire standoff situation lasted more than 10 hours.
