Students at Edison High School are protesting Wednesday morning by walking out of school.

Dozens of students started walking out of the school around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. The students are conducting the protest because they say the school and its atmosphere have been going downhill.

The students who walked out went to areas designated by school administrators.

Edison community members met last week to discuss several issues at the school, including an apparent lack of respect among faculty and students, frequent teacher "trading," and other issues. There have also been several negative stories connected to the school in recent weeks, such as a teacher accused of sending inappropriate photos to students.
