Dozens of guns stolen from NW hunting goods store
OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) —
Police need your help identifying a suspect who they say stole dozens of guns this past weekend.
Police say a suspect wasted no time no time in breaking into Cabela’s store and surveillance video caught that suspect stealing more than two dozen guns.
This happened near Memorial and Western around 4:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 8.
“You can see on the video that he smashed a window to get in and then he took a large number of handguns from the store,” said Oklahoma City Police, Msgt. Gary Knight.
You see the suspect break the glass case, even going to the extent of kicking in the case to get inside.
Once the suspect broke the case, video shows him immediately fill up a bag with as many handguns as he could grab. Then, as quickly as he entered the store, the suspect dashed out, dropping a few guns along the way.
Police said this puts them on high alert.
“Obviously that grabs our attention when it's a number of firearms being stolen. We certainly want to get those back as soon as possible,” said Knight.
Police reports show the suspect made off with approximately 25 handguns.
“Certainly anyone with information on this, we want to hear from them through crime stoppers before these guns fall into the hands of somebody who could hurt somebody with them,” Knight said.
The suspect is described as a white male, wearing all black, who was also wearing a mask during the burglary. Police say they found blood near the shattered window.
