Forrest Freeman, 59, was arrested in Oklahoma County on complaints of aggravated possession of child pornography, distribution of child pornography and violation of the Computer Crimes Act. (Oklahoma County Jail)

The technology director of a metro school has been arrested and accused of possesion of child pornography.

The Edmond Police Department reports that Forest Nelson Freeman III, 59, has been arrested on complaints of aggravated possession of child pornography, distribution of child pornography and violation of the Computer Crimes Act.

An investigation into Freeman began around Sept. 22 when a member of the Edmond Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force found a computer sharing child pornography on a file sharing network. The IP address of the computer was logged and on Oct. 6 authorities filed a court order to get the address of the home through Cox Communications and found it belonged to Freeman.

On Dec. 1, Edmond officers, along with Choctaw Police Department officers, served a search warrant on Freeman's Choctaw home. While serving the warrant, Freeman reportedly refused to give authorities passwords to electronic devices and told his wife to do the same.

Authorities seized electronics from the home and performed an evaluation on them, allegedly finding more than 300 child pornography images.

Officers returned to the home and were unable to find Freeman. They were later told that his family was "hiding" him so he wouldn't have to spend the weekend in the Oklahoma County Jail.

Freeman was later booked through the Oklahoma County Jail on the charges.

FOX 25 has reached out to Choctaw-Nicoma Park Public Schools for a statement. They have yet to follow up.

Freeman is the son of Oklahoma County Treasurer Forrest "Butch" Freeman.

”I ask all to respect our family’s privacy. My first priority is for my son and his family, whom I dearly love. I ask for your prayers for all concerned. As this is a legal matter involving my son and not me, it would be inappropriate for me to make any further comment." Butch said in a statement.
