One dead following crash between semi, truck on I-40
OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) —
One person is dead following a crash in the rain Friday along Interstate 40 in Oklahoma City.
Just after 10 a.m. August 25 the crash was reported in the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 at S. Douglas Boulevard. The roadway was blocked for several hours following the crash.
Five people were involved in the crash between a semi, truck and another vehicle. The OHP reports that a Ford F150 driven by 60-year-old James Roberts of Shawnee was traveling west bound on I-40 when a vehicle it was behind slowed for traffic. Authorities say Roberts attempted to slow down and then swerved into the outside lane and struck the vehicle he was behind before hitting the back of a 2018 Kenworth semi. He was pronounced dead on scene.
No one else was injured in the crash.
Heavy rains and flash flooding have caused several roads, such as I-235 to be shut down.
