Apartment building, shop collapse in Muskogee, damage reported across NE Oklahoma

MUSKOGEE, Okla. (KTUL) -- Muskogee County Emergency Management confirms a building at Whispering Pines apartments has collapsed in Muskogee.

No injuries have been reported.

Muskogee police say Red Cross and Salvation Army volunteers have responded to assist displaced residents.

OG&E is reporting more than 4,000 power outages in Muskogee and nearly 25,000 across the state.

Damage reports are coming in across Green Country. In Wagoner, an awning collapsed at a Phillips 66 gas station near Highway 69 and Cherokee Street. Police there report damage on the northwest and southeast sides of town along with many power outages.

Multiple mobile homes were flipped over about a mile east of Porter on Highway 51.

The town's mayor says they believe a small tornado came through last night. The National Weather Service will be out Friday to assess the damage and determine if a tornado touched down.
