YeeHAW! It's the International Finals Youth Rodeo
SHAWNEE — May the best rodeo star win! High School students are competing for their share of over $200,000 this weekend and it's all going down in Shawnee, Oklahoma! The International Finals Youth Rodeo (IFYR) is a non-profit organization that's main purpose is to bring professional rodeo to high school athletes. From there, the best of the best and their families get to rodeo across the country. The program began in Shawnee in 1993 and has almost quadrupled since then. It now includes contestants from Brazil, Canada and even Australia! Events include barrel racing, pole bending, breakaway roping, goat tying, team roping, steer wrestling, bull riding and bareback riding. Those will all take place this weekend at the Heart of Oklahoma Exposition Center in Shawnee. Click here for more information and tickets!
