Wind picks up inflatable slide, blows it 300 feet, injures kids
By Jay Dillon
It happened again. For the second time in a little more than two weeks, an inflatable toy took kids for a wild ride, this time in Colorado. Two kids were on the inflatable slide when a gust of wind picked it up and sent it tumbling across a field in Colorado on Saturday. The slide rolled nearly 300 feet before coming to a stop. Witnesses say a girl was thrown off the slide when it started to blow away. She was not seriously hurt. First responders say a boy trapped on the slide was carried across the field on the inflatable. He was taken to the hospital but is expected to be okay. The company that operates the slide says it followed all proper safety precautions and it was properly staked into the ground. This isn't the first incident of this kind. Just a little more than two weeks ago, three children were playing in a New York bounce house when a gust of wind picked it up and launched it 50 feet into the air.
