Veterans Memorial Park takes lead for America's Favorite Park
The rebuilding process in Moore and in cities across Oklahoma is going full steam ahead, despite this weekend's rain, and you can speed up the process with a vote!
Veterans Memorial Park in Moore is in the lead to win Coca-Cola's contest for America's Favorite Park. The winning park will receive a $100,000 grant from Coke. For Moore, that could go a long way to help rebuild the park.
Voting started in June for the contest and Veterans Park immediately jumped to first. But after a few weeks of voting, it slipped to second. This weekend every vote counted twice and Veterans Park reclaimed the lead, but Mason Neck State Park in Virginia is very close.
The park, along with its bronze statues of war heroes who served in World War Two, Korea, Vietnam, and Afghanistan, is a location for veterans come and reflect.
