Verrückt, world's tallest waterslide, to open next summer in Kansas City

The ride height of Verrückt is still not announced, but the Schlitterbahn says it will top the record of 134.5 feet set by Aguas Quentes Country Club in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Calling all daredevils, the tallest waterslide in the world will soon be available for you to ride and it's just a short drive away.

Schlitterbahn Kansas City Waterpark plans to open up the 'world's most extreme waterslide' named next summer. In German, verrückt means insane. And judging by the pictures, you'd have to be insane to go for a ride.

The ride will be taller and faster than the current record which is a slide at a Rio De Janeiro country club that stands at just under 135 feet.

The waterpark isn't releasing its final height or top speeds but the slide measures at 601 feet, climbs 50 feet in the middle, and has 264 stairs to climb.

It is expected to open next summer.
