      Two injured after van crashes into Midwest City living room

      Two people were hurt after a minivan crashed through the front wall of a Midwest City home.Around 5 p.m. Tuesday, police and fire officials were called to a home in the 9500 block of McIntosh Ave.

      James Adams says he was relaxing with his wife and their 27-year-old daughter in the living room when the van came through the wall.

      "All the sudden I heard a big boom and I'm flying through the air," he said.

      Midwest City Police say the driver, 54-year-old Elizabeth Burlison, reported her brakes failed. She ran a stop sign and jumped the curb before landing in the Adams's living room with them.Burlison and the homeowner's daughter Britne were injured in the accident. James said Britne was trapped under debris and was bleeding badly from her head.

      "She was hollering saying 'help help' but I couldn't get to her," he said.

      Police said both injured women are expected to be okay. Officers say they did not issue any citations related to the accident.Firefighters stayed on the scene to help the homeowner pick up debris and to dig his car out of the garage.
