TSA: two handguns found at Oklahoma airports on Monday
The Transportation Security Administration said a loaded gun was found in bags at both of Oklahoma's international airports.TSA says the first gun, a 9mm Glock 26, was found in a carry-on bag during checkpoint screening at Oklahoma City's Will Rogers World Airport around 6:30 a.m. Monday. The second gun, a 9mm Beretta Nano, was found at Tulsa International Airport around 2:45 p.m. the same day in a checked bag.The TSA says both guns were loaded.Police were called and took the weapons. They also interviewed passengers."Firearms and ammunition, along with firearm parts and realistic replicas, are always prohibited at the TSA security checkpoint," said TSA spokesperson Carrie Harmon. Those items are allowed in checked baggage but must be declared, unloaded, and stored in a locked, hard-sided container.According to the TSA, this is the 14th firearm found during checkpoint screening in Oklahoma City and the 10th in Tulsa.The identities of both travelers was not released.
