Traffic stop nets 150 lbs of marijuana in Canadian County

An Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics K-9 stands next to 150 lbs of 'high quality' marijuana seized by OBN Friday.

The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) says a traffic stop has led to 150 pounds of marijuana being taken off Oklahoma streets.

OBN director Mark Woodward tells FOX 25 a highway interdiction unit made a traffic stop in Canadian County west of El Reno Friday afternoon around 1:30.

An OBN K-9 unit was brought to the scene to search for drugs. When the dog got a 'hit', officials searched the vehicle and found approximately 150 lbs of "high quality" marijuana. Woodward did not say why officials determined they needed to search the vehicle.

Three people were taken into custody. OBN says they could be charged with trafficking and conspiracy to traffic.

No names have been released at this time.
