Thunder waive DeAndre Liggins after domestic abuse arrest

Former Thunder Guard DeAndre Liggins, released after he was arrested for domestic abuse.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have waived DeAndre Liggins six days after he was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend.

General Manager and Executive Vice President Sam Presti announced the release just after 6:00 PM Friday.

Liggins was arrested by Oklahoma County Sheriff's Deputies for domestic abuse with a dangerous weapon and domestic assault in the presence of a minor on Saturday, August 31.

Liggins appeared in 39 games for the Thunder during the 2012-13 season, averaging 1.5 points and 1.4 rebounds in 7.4 minutes per contest. He holds career averages of 1.6 points and 1.2 rebounds in 56 career games.
