Three homicides in OKC in a matter of two hours

Tuesday night was a busy night for Oklahoma City Police. Three people were found dead within a two hour period.

Police say it all started around 9:00 p.m. Tuesday night. The first call came in for a body found in a home on Southeast 55th Street off Byers Avenue.

MSgt. Gary Knight tells us, "The person had trauma to their body which obviously indicated to officers that this would be a homicide case."

Oklahoma City Police tell us the man, James Canaday, lived in the home, but they have not said how he was killed.

About a half hour later police were called to a home on North Military Avenue in the Western Village neighborhood. When they got there they found 17 year old Davion Thompson in the home. He was taken to OU Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Oklahoma City Public Schools confirms that Thompson was a student at Seeworth Charter Academy.

Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow commented on the case saying, "No arrests have been made. Obviously whoever committed this homicide we want to take into custody as quickly as possible."

Police do not know who the suspect is but they do have a vehicle description. They are looking for a newer model, white Dodge Charger with tinted windows.

Finally around 11:00 p.m. police were called to a shooting at the Four Seasons Gas Station and Convenience Store on Northwest 63rd near the Broadway Extension. Habib Hajimirzaei was shot and killed. Those who frequent the gas station say he was a clerk there.

"He was always friendly, personable, always treated everyone who walked through that door with kindness," said Luri Dixon.

Three separate shootings all with tragic endings. OKCPD says they prepare for nights like that, but hope they never happen.

"Certainly that's very tragic when that happens. Thankfully that's also very rare when that happens," said MSgt. Knight.
