For a city like Oklahoma City, a vehicle that's powered by peddles and sun would probably work. It would be easy to get from Downtown to Bricktown and up and down Western.
A North Carolina company called Organic Transit has created what it calls "Elf Trikes". Part tricycle, part motorized vehicle. When you hit a hill, you can flip a switch and the solar-powered battery can help you zoom along at 30 mph.
"It's made in the U.S.A. and it really promotes healthy commuters, more livable cities, more local economy as well as allowing individuals to participate in a cleaner, healthier climate," said Organic Transit owner Rob Cotter.
The Elf also has a top to protect riders from the elements but lacks doors.
