A group of teens hoping to ban texting and driving in Oklahoma will gather today at the State Capitol.
The group, called Generation Text, has scheduled a news conference today to advocate for a statewide ban on texting while driving. The group will be joined by legislators, law enforcement and insurance industry officials.
Several bills to ban texting while driving have been introduced this legislative session.
Former House Speaker T.W. Shannon opposed a texting ban, but his successor Speaker Jeff Hickman has supported the idea.
