Sales tax holiday begins in Oklahoma
OKLAHOMA CITY —
Oklahoma's sales tax holiday is underway. From now until midnight Sunday, August 4th shoppers have the opportunity to buy certain clothing and shoes free of sales tax. This includes state and any local sales taxes.
Retailers are required to participate and may not charge tax on items that are legally tax-exempt during the sales tax holiday. Shoppers will not pay sales tax on clothing and shoes priced at less than $100.
You will still pay taxes on accessories, special clothing or footwear primarily designed for athletic activity or protective use and rental of clothing or footwear, according to the Oklahoma Tax Commission.
Some stores and malls have extended hours through the weekend. For more information on what is and isn't included in the sales tax holiday click here
