Stillwater police: Man nearly beheaded in Wednesday's homicide
Stillwater Police say the suspect in Wednesday's homicide called them claiming he had murdered someone.Police arrested and charged Isaiah Marin in the murder of 19-year-old Stillwater resident Jacob Andrew Crockett.
Police say Marin used a large knife or spear to nearly sever the head of Crockett.Police say Marina called them around 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday to tell officers he had killed someone. When officers arrived, they say they found Marin covered in blood. Officers say they located the body at an apartment on the 400 block of Oakdale. According to authorities, the victim's head was "almost entirely severed from his body." Police say Marin told them he had fantasies about murdering multiple people but they only found one victim.This near beheading is not at all connected to recent news reports of beheadings around the world, say authorities.Police say Marin was coherent when he confessed to murder.Police say Marin said he planned to commit murders at one time, but only killed one person.Police say victim is the son is a highway patrol trooper, but that does not appear to be a motive.Police indicate there may be illegal drug use connected to this slaying.
