Update 4:00 p.m.
The City of Oklahoma City is reporting that power has been restored to the Draper Plant. It will take approximately two to three hours before the system returns to normal.
Update 2:15 p.m.
OG&E is estimating power will be restore by 4:00 p.m. Water pressure should began returning to normal after that.
Update 12:10 p.m.
Most of the power outages have been fixed. Only 600+ customers in Choctaw remain without electricity.A representative of the Oklahoma City Water Department says a power outage is affecting the Draper Water Treatment Plant causing low water pressure across southern Oklahoma City. The power outage affects more than 4,000 Oklahoma Gas and Electric (OG&E) customers according to the OG&E website. The customers affected are in the Choctaw and Norman areas but the majority of customers experiencing an outage are in south OKC.
An OG&E spokesperson reports a crew is en route to the area affected. Once they have arrived they will be able to diagnose the problem and begin repairs.
This is the second time in two weeks a power outage at the plant has affected the water pressure across south OKC.
