Six-year-old killed in SW Oklahoma City house fire

OKLAHOMA CITY — The body of a six-year-old boy has been recovered from a house that caught fire and may have exploded in SW Oklahoma City early Tuesday morning.Emergency crews were called to the home in the 1300 block of SW 23rd street just after 5:00 AM Tuesday to a report of a home that caught fire and exploded.Firefighters say when they arrived, a woman had jumped out of a window to escape the flames. She was treated by emergency responders. Authorities say by the time they were able to make it inside the home, there was just one wall of the home still standing.Just after 9:00 AM, officials identified the boy who died in the fire as six-year-old Tyler Spears.Friends told FOX 25's Rebecca Schleicher that the family did not have insurance and they lost everything in the fire. The Red Cross arrived just after 8:00 AM to assist the family with any needs.Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire and explosion.
