Shawnee police identify body found in river
SHAWNEE — (AP) -- Authorities have identified a body found in the North Canadian River as that of a woman who had been reported missing. Shawnee police officers identified the woman as 25-year-old Casie Michelle Johnson. Her body has been sent to the state medical examiner's office for an autopsy.Family members reported Johnson missing on Tuesday after she didn't come home. Her body was found Friday afternoon in about 3 feet of water east of the South Beard Bridge.Detective Jason Crouch with the Shawnee Police Department says two other people were with Johnson at the river. He says authorities have been in contact with one person and are seeking the second person for questioning.An investigation is ongoing into Johnson's death. Copyright 2014 Associated Press.
