Santa visits Moore schools hit by tornadoes

The bags are filled and wagons loaded. Ready for Santa to make his rounds

Santa and his elves visited kids at Briarwood and Plaza Tower elementary schools bringing Christmas to the classroom. Classrooms full of unsuspecting students got to pick a toy of their choice from Santa's bag.

"I got a puzzle," said Plaza Towers 5th grader Damien Kline.

"A football, a nerf football," is what 4th grade Kaylee Edwards got.

"We just wanted to be able to love them and show them support here at Christmas time," said Steven Earp, lead pastor at Elevate Church.

Earp and his congregation collected more than 5-thousand toys for Thursday's giveaway. He said Briarwood and Plaza Towers were chosen for one reason.

"Most of them lost everything, their school and homes and friends."

After the devastating tornadoes in May, Elevate Church wanted to make sure the kids had an extra special Christmas.

"Anything we can do to see a smile or hear laughter from them is worth it."

The church is still collecting toys for kids in Moore. For more information go to their web site
