Rock for Oklahoma raises money for storm victims
OKLAHOMA CITY —
Tornado victim benefit Rock for Oklahoma was held at Chesapeake arena Tuesday evening. Music acts The Flaming Lips, Jackson Brown and Kings of Leon are just some of the performers.
Funds will go to the United Way to benefit all tornado victims from this Spring.
You can also send a 10 dollar donation by texting REBUILD to 52000.
Student musicians from ACM@UCO will also be sharing the spotlight.
Losses from the tornadoes are estimated to reach $2 billion. Many of the short-term needs of victims have already been met. The goal of Rock for Oklahoma is to help them with long-term issues and problems, such as regaining livelihoods. All of the proceeds will be dispersed to central Oklahoma community organizations and charities.
