The Oklahoma Department of Health says there were no new deaths during the past week due to the flu, and an additional eight were hospitalized.
The department's weekly report is released Thursday during flu season. This week's report indicate that 58 people have died from flu-related illnesses, the same number as last week. Eight additional hospitalizations were reported, bringing the total to 1,302 hospitalized.
Though the numbers appear to have leveled off, flu season doesn't end until May.
This year's number of fatalities is the highest in the history of the state, eclipsing the 2009 mark set at 46.
