Norman police investigating pursuit and officer-involved shooting

      Norman police say a suspect is in the hospital following a pursuit and officer-involved shooting Saturday afternoon.According to Cpt. Tom Easley with the Norman Police Department, a Norman resident reported a suspicious vehicle near the 2500 block of 168th Ave. around noon Saturday. Police located the suspicious vehicle and a pursuit began. The chase ended approximately two miles later near the intersection of 192nd Ave. and E. Rock Creek Road. Authorities say the suspect got out of his vehicle and his suspicious behavior led to two Norman officers shooting him.The suspect was transported to OU Medical Center where his condition report has not yet been released.The officers were not injured in the shooting and have been placed on administrative leave while the shooting is investigated.
