Police: driver was impaired before fatal accident in Bethany

Bethany police say a man who caused a five car accident that resulted in the death of one person was on drugs at the time of the crash.Police arrested Wesley Early, 28, on one count of first degree manslaughter. Police said he was driving a vehicle that collided with four other cars in the 2800 block of N. Rockwell in Bethany on Tuesday. Officers said when they arrived, they found two cars that had caught fire. In one of those cars, emergency responders say one person was trapped as the fire burned the vehicle. That person died at the scene.Police said while they were on the scene, they learned from witnesses that Early may have been responsible for the accident and suspect he was impaired by drugs. Bethany Police did indicate what drugs they suspect he was on but said he was checked out by a drug recognition expert.He was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on one count of first degree manslaughter.Police have not identified the victim.
