Police continue investigation after Norman deadly shooting

Norman police are questioning four people after a deadly shooting. Police say the shooting happened at a home in the 800 block of North Stewart at around 8:40p.m. Thursday night.

Police say this is not a random act of violence. Officers are still at the house as they continue their investigation. Norman police believe a fight earlier in the week may have sparked this shooting.

Norman Police Captain Todd Gibson said, "We don't believe it to be drug-related. We believe there was a dispute between some people and the victim sometime Wednesday, which escalated and ultimately resulted in the shooting last night."

Police say when they arrived at the home, they found a man in his 20's shot in the face and a woman in her 60's with minor injuries. Both were taken to the Norman Regional Hospital, and that's where the man later died. Police say the victim and woman are grandson and grandmother.

Neighbors say three vehicles pulled up outside the home, and that's when several men wearing face masks got out, kicked in the front door and confronted the man. The suspects then shot the man once in the face with a handgun.

Police say the two were the only people in the home at the time of the murder, and they think the suspects may have known the victim. No names have been released as the investigation continues.

The grandmother was treated and released from the hospital.
