Come feed your need for beads at Crabtown's new Mardi Gras Bar in Bricktown on Tuesday, March 4th from 5:00 p.m. to close. The public is invited to feast on Cajun specialties, $5 Hurricanes with commemorative cups and live entertainment inside the New Orleans inspired bar. The party will include costumed staff, thousands of beads, masks and everything purple, green and gold.
The first 50 people to enter the bar will receive tickets for specially made king cake cupcakes from Pinkitzel Cupcakes and Candy. The cupcakes will be handed out at 6:00 p.m. The customer who finds a baby inside their cupcake will be crowned king or queen and receive royal treatment for the evening.
The Mardi Gras Bar was built with reclaimed wood from New Orleans' French Quarter, the oldest neighborhood in the city, as a tribute to NOLA's rich history, diversity and culture. Tracing back to 1699, Mardi Gras, or "FatTuesday," is the last day of the Carnival season. It refers to grand feasts held before the fasting and prayer season of Lent, in the 40 days leading to Easter Sunday.
