Oklahoma's Sales Tax Holiday begins this weekend!
OKLAHOMA — It's that time of year!Thankfully, Oklahoma offers an annual sales tax holiday weekend so you can stock up on everything you need-- tax free! During the sales tax holiday, all Oklahoma shoppers will pay no sales tax on certain retail items.The tax-free weekend begins Friday, August 1st (beginning at 12:01 a.m.) through Sunday, August 3rd (ending at 12:00 a.m.)It's taking place throughout the entire state of Oklahoma and any county or city sales taxes are also lifted. This applies to all shoes and clothing under $100 per item. All retailers in Oklahoma are required to participate. The tax exemption does not apply to the sale of any accessories, special clothing or footwear primarily designed for athletic activity or protective use that is not normally worn except when used for athletic activity or protective use.Accessories including jewelry, handbags, luggage, umbrellas, wallets, watches, and other similar items are considered taxable and will not be exempt.
