Oklahoma Sooners name Trevor Knight starting QB

It's official. The Oklahoma Sooners head coach Bob Stoops announced freshman Trevor Knight will start under center on August 31.

The redshirt freshman Knight will get the starting job over junior Blake Bell when the Sooners open the season against Louisiana-Monroe on August 31.

"Both Trevor and Blake (Bell) have competed hard and both will be ready to play against Louisiana-Monroe," Stoops said. "Like every other position on our team, I expect them both to continue competing for the starting job."

Knight was a four-star recruit out of San Antonioa and threw for 27 touchdowns and 2,092 yards with three interceptions as a senior in high school.
