Oklahoma City police officer shot at by suspect
OKLAHOMA CITY —
Oklahoma City Police have arrested a suspect after he shot at an officer.
It began early Saturday morning when an officer pulled over a car for a traffic violation at NW 92nd St. and Harvey. The car stopped in a driveway but the driver took off running. The officer gave chase on foot.
The suspect turned and began struggling with the officer. The two went to the ground and the suspect got the officers weapon, fired a shot toward the officer, and fled. Other officers arrive and a perimeter was set up and a search began. The suspect was located in a vacant home in the 300 block of NW 87th St. The tactical team and the bomb squad were called out for assistance.
Around 8:00 a.m. the suspect was taken into custody, he had a minor injury caused by the break in. The name of the suspect is being withheld pending positive identification. Police believe the suspect had outstanding warrants.
The police officer had minor injuries from the scuffle.
