      Oklahoma City man gets decade in prison for child sex trafficking conviction

      An Oklahoma City man who pleaded guilty to child sex trafficking has received ten years in prison for trying to convince and force a minor to become a prostitute.Ronald Everett Spivey Jr, 48, of Oklahoma City pleaded guilty in January to trying to force a person he believed to be a 17-year-old female to work as a prostitute.Spivey and a woman, 26-year-old Kimberly Haven, were both arrested in July 2013 in Tulsa. The United States Attorney assigned to the case said the two worked together that summer to recruit and prostitute a female under 18 years old.Officials say they traveled to Tulsa to recruit the girl, who turned out to be an undercover Tulsa Police officer. Authorities say Spivey exchanged texts with the undercover officer where he asked her birthday and offered to take her to Las Vegas or Florida to work for him.Haven pleaded guilty to interstate transportation and racketeering charges. She was sentenced to probation.Spivey was sentenced to ten years in prison.
