OKCPD search for man caught on camera robbing payday loan location

Oklahoma City Police released surveillance video Monday of the armed robbery at the Approved Cash Advance store Friday. FOX25 spoke to one of the victims who wanted to keep her identity hidden."He took a lot away from me," the victim said. She told FOX25 she wants the man responsible for robbing her at gun point store on northwest 63rd behind bars. Police said the man, walked in and asked about getting a loan. Shortly after, he pulled out a gun and demanded money."I thought we were dead," the victim said. After grabbing the money, the man then walked to the back and the employees thought he was gone."So I stood up," the victim said. "And when I stood up he came back, he pointed that gun at me again. He told me to get back down and I thought he was going to shoot me."This isn't the first time that Approved Cash Advance has been targeted. Less than three months ago, another robber went into the store demanding money by using a note. Both times the robbers barely got away with a few hundred dollars. The multiple robberies have other stores in the strip mall worried."I was very afraid for our store," said Carolyn Windsor from Showbiz Dance Boutique.Showbiz Dance Boutique is right next door. They told FOX25 a lot of their customers are mothers and children."Mothers may be apprehensive to bring their child into a store where they feel there may be harm or danger."They too have seen their share of break-ins and burglaries. A dent near their front door is what's left after someone threw a brick through their window.Emanuel Montes from Cricket a few doors down is also concerned."Knowing that it's two stores down, it easily could have happened to us as well," said Montes. They like everyone else here just want the robber caught. Police ask for those who recognize the robber to call Crimestoppers at 405-235-7300.
