Sheriff deputies say a man admits to downloading 100 images of child pornography every week for the past decade.
Deputies from the Canadian County Sheriff arrested 33-year-old James Malbrough Wednesday at his home in northwest Oklahoma City.
According to officials, deputies obtained a search warrant after the Sheriff's Internet Crimes against Children (ICAC) unit determined child porn was being downloaded and distributed from a computer in Malbrough's home.
Deputies say they located the computer which had image of children as young as six being victimized by adults. Officers say that's when Malbrough admitted that the computer was his and he had been downloading child pornography at a rate of 100 per week for the past ten years; meaning there could be 52,000 pieces of child pornography on his computer.
Malbrough told police he had never sexually abused any children but when he submitted to a polygraph, he stated he was very close to acting on his curiosity with children.
"This is a shining example of how this program continues to protect the lives of innocent children from the depravity of these sexual predators. There's no telling how soon Malbrough may have acted out on his sick fantasies." Said Randall Edwards, Canadian County Sheriff.
Malbrough was booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center for possession and distribution of child pornography on $20,000 bond.
If convicted, he faces 40 years in prison.
