Power restored in MWC and Harrah following car crash
MIDWEST CITY — A large outage left thousands without power in the Oklahoma City metro area Sunday evening after a car struck transmission lines. OG&E reported that over 23,000 customers in the Midwest City and Harrah area were without power just after 6 p.m. Sunday following the accident at NE 36th and N. Luther Road. Power was restored to customers around 8 p.m. Sunday. The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office says the driver fell asleep and briefly drove through a corn field before striking transmission lines. The driver was not injured in the crash.
