Norman man killed, police searching for suspects
Norman police say a man was shot and killed inside a home Thursday night by men wearing masks.
A neighbor heard a fight around 8:40 p.m. inside a home in the 800 block of Stewart Drive. When police got there, they found a man in his 20's shot in the face. Another woman in her 60's was taken to the hospital to be checked out as a precaution. She reported no major injuries.
The man died at the hospital.
Police say the two were the only people home at the time of the murder.
Witnesses told police three vehicles pulled up outside the home. Several men wearing masks got out, kicked in the front door and approached the man. He was shot once in the face. The men took the woman's wallet, then fled south on Stewart.
The only description police have is the men were white males driving a white 4-door car, a tan minivan and tan SUV (possibly a Ford).
Police say they think the suspects knew the victim.
"Norman police do not believe this was a random act of violence," Captain Todd Gibson said in a statement.
No names have been released as the investigation continues.
