More than 1,000 metro customers without power after the storm

Oklahoma Gas & Electric is reporting more than 1,200 customers are in the dark Wednesday morning after a loud storm moved through the area.According to OG&E's System Watch, at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, 1,229 customers without power. Of the 1300+. 565 were in Oklahoma City, 280 were on the north side, 245 out west, and 139 were in Midwest City.The storm is believed to be responsible for at least two house fires Wednesday morning. One home caught fire around 3 a.m. near NE 36th and Coltrane. The other was also caused by lightning and was a 10,000 square foot home in Nichols Hills that started around 4:30 p.m.Both homes are considered to be a total loss.
