Moore police ask for witnesses to in-custody death to come forward
Three days after a man died in the custody Moore police officers, the department is asking for any witnesses to come forward.
Luis Rodriguez died early Saturday morning after he was detained at the Warren Theatre in Moore. Police held a press conference Tuesday to discuss the death and said Rodriguez was handcuffed because he failed to cooperate.
Officers were called to the theater Saturday night and say Rodriguez made statements that made them believe the altercation was a case of domestic violence. The responding officers said he failed to cooperate with them and sprayed him with pepper spray before handcuffing him.
Police say Luiz' wife, Nair Rodriguez, recorded the incident on her cell phone. Police say the reviewed the video and say the officers did not have any malicious intent. They're asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
