Medical Examiner confirms death of Sen. Inhofe's son, Perry

Perry D. Inhofe, MD, son of Senator Jim Inhofe died in a plane crash near Owasso on Sunday, the state Medical Examiner confirmed Tuesday.

The Oklahoma Medical Examiner has confirmed that Perry Inhofe, Senator Jim Inhofe's son, was the pilot who died in a plane crash in Owasso Sunday.

Perry Inhofe, II has been identified as the victim through dental records but the cause and manner of his death are still pending as autopsy has not yet been performed.

The plane crashed around 3:45 PM Sunday near Owasso. According to the NTSB, the plane took off from Salina, Kansas around 3:00 and was just five miles the Tulsa airport when the crash happened. The NTSB has not yet released details about what caused the crash.

The plane was bought by Anasazi Winds LLC in September. Inhofe is listed as one of the owners of the company. The company also has the same business address as Inhofe's doctor's office in Tulsa.

The Mayor of Tulsa issued a statement on the passing of Perry Inhofe on Monday, saying "Dr. Perry Inhofe was a man of great integrity, skilled as a surgeon, and an example for all of us. His love for his family and of his profession will always be remembered. I am asking all Tulsans to remember Dr. Inhofe and keep his dear family in our prayers."
