Man convicted of murder as teen, arrested for Sept. OKC homicide in Florida
The man wanted for the shooting death of another man in South Oklahoma City last year is in the Oklahoma County Jail on murder charges after he was arrested up by Florida officials in December.
Carrecus Hammond, 20, was extradited to the Oklahoma County Jail early Thursday morning by law enforcement Seminole County, Florida, last December.
Hammond was wanted for the shooting death of 24-year-old Justin Lamont Williams in September. Police say Williams was shot at the Windsong Village Apartments in the 7200 block of S. Walker on Sept. 25. After being shot, police say he drove south and crashed into a truck near S. Walker and I-240.
According to police documents, Hammond was booked into the Seminole COunty Jail in early December.
This isn't Hammond's first murder charge. As a 14-year-old, Hammond was convicted of killing Vinnie Broome in 2007. He was released from custody in 2010.
