A devoted dog who apparently stayed in the woods for more than a day, barking to draw attention to his owner who died in the snow, has found a home.
A neighbor saw 61-year-old Claudine Murphy walking Saturday, Jan. 18, with Chase, a mixed yellow Labrador. Sunday evening, another neighbor reported hearing the dog bark for hours on end. When they went to search for the pup, they found Murphy's body. Her cause of death was likely hypothermia.
The family searched for a permanent home for the woman's best friend before decided Chase should stay in the family. He'll be adopted by his late owner's nephew.
