      Logan County officials seek public's help in identifying body

      The Logan County Sheriff's Office has released more details as they seek the public's help in identifying a body found burning near Langston Friday afternoon.

      Around 3:30 PM Friday, the Langston Fire Department was called to County Rd 75 and Hiwassee when a passerby reported what they thought was a grass fire. When crews put the flames out, they reported finding the body of an adult male.

      According to the sheriff's office, the victim is believed to be a Native American in his 20s to early 30s and approximately 5-feet, 8-inches tall.

      The victim had the seal of the Cherokee Nation on his chest and a tattoo of a horned serpent known as Uktena on his right shoulder.

      Anyone with information on the victim or potentially missing persons is asked to call the Logan County Sheriff's Office at 405-282-4100.
