Like Father Like Son: Coaching a Family Thing For the Franklins

OKLAHOMA CITY- Darwin Franklin is on the brink of winning his first state championship, in his first season as head coach of the Millwood Falcons.

His dad accomplished that feat back in 1978, except on the hardwood.

Varryl Franklin became head basketball coach at Millwood in 1978, and since then, has won 13 of the school's 15 state titles.

The Millwood football team won its last state championship back in 2006. The Falcons (14-0) face off with Davis Thursday night for the 2A state title.

Here's Fox 25 sports reporter Sam Gannon with more on this special bond between father and son.
